Procap – Built For Adventure

Terms, Warranty & ProCare Plus Protection

1. Introduction

Welcome to ProCap Canopies.

These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase, installation, use, and warranty of all ProCap aluminium canopies and accessories.

By purchasing or installing a ProCap canopy, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined below.

These terms apply to all ProCap products sold directly or through authorised dealers.

2. ProCap ProCare Plus Warranty

All ProCap aluminium canopies are covered by our ProCap ProCare Plus Warranty, which provides peace of mind and protection against manufacturing defects.

Warranty Period

ProCap offers a 2-year ProCare Plus Warranty from the date of purchase.

What the Warranty Covers

During the warranty period, ProCap will repair or replace defective components resulting from manufacturing defects including:

  • Corrosion of aluminium components
  • Rust affecting structural integrity
  • Structural manufacturing defects
  • Faulty welds or structural joins
  • Defects in aluminium panels or frame construction
  • Water ingress caused by manufacturing defects
  • Powder coating or paint failure due to manufacturing faults
  • Factory-installed hinges, locks, and latches that fail due to manufacturing defects

Where a defect is confirmed, ProCap will repair or replace the affected component at its discretion.

Replacement parts may be new or refurbished components of equal performance and quality.

3. “No Questions Asked” Corrosion Guarantee

Under the ProCap ProCare Plus Corrosion Protection, we guarantee that all aluminium structural components will remain free from rust and corrosion for the duration of the warranty period.

If corrosion or rust occurs on any aluminium component within the first 24 months, ProCap will repair or replace the affected component.

This guarantee applies to:

  • Aluminium frame structures
  • Aluminium panels
  • Structural components manufactured by ProCap

Normal cosmetic ageing or surface wear that does not affect structural integrity is excluded.

4. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Accidents, collisions, or impacts
  • Improper installation or modification
  • Installation by unauthorised installers
  • Use outside the intended purpose of the product
  • Overloading roof racks beyond specified limits
  • Incorrect use of accessories
  • Failure to properly maintain the product
  • Exposure to corrosive chemicals or environments
  • Extreme misuse or abuse of the product
  • Fire, flood, or natural disasters
  • Theft or vandalism

Normal wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing defect.

5. Accessories and Moving Parts

The following components are considered serviceable or wear components and may naturally degrade over time:

  • Gas struts
  • Hinges
  • Rubber seals
  • Locks and latches
  • Mounting hardware

These components are covered under warranty only where failure is due to manufacturing defects.

6. Installation Requirements

To maintain warranty validity:

  • The canopy must be installed by ProCap or an authorised ProCap installer
  • Installation must follow ProCap installation specifications
  • Mounting systems must not be altered or modified
  • Improper installation may void the warranty.

7. Roof Load Limits

All ProCap canopies are engineered with specific roof load limits.

Unless otherwise specified:

  • Dynamic load limit: 150 kg
  • Static load limit: 300 kg

Exceeding these limits may damage the canopy and will void the warranty.

8. Maintenance Requirements

Customers are responsible for basic maintenance of the canopy including:

  • Periodic cleaning of the canopy and seals
  • Checking mounting bolts periodically
  • Lubricating locks and hinges where necessary
  • Ensuring drainage channels remain clear

Failure to perform reasonable maintenance may affect warranty claims.

9. Warranty Claims Procedure

If a defect occurs during the warranty period:

  1. The customer must contact ProCap or the authorised dealer.
  2. Proof of purchase must be provided.
  3. Photos or inspection may be required.
  4. ProCap may request the canopy to be inspected at an authorised facility.

If the claim is approved, ProCap will repair or replace the affected component.

Warranty repairs do not extend the original warranty period.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

ProCap shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of use of the vehicle
  • Loss of income or business
  • Damage to transported goods
  • Indirect or consequential damages

The maximum liability of ProCap shall not exceed the original purchase price of the canopy.

11. Product Use Disclaimer

ProCap canopies are designed for recreational, commercial, and transport use.

Customers are responsible for ensuring the canopy is used in accordance with vehicle manufacturer specifications and applicable road laws.

12. Consumer Protection Act Compliance

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights granted to consumers under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Customers retain all statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

13. Ownership and Product Modifications

Unauthorised modifications, drilling, welding, or structural alterations to the canopy may void the warranty.

ProCap is not responsible for damage resulting from third-party modifications or accessories.

14. Transferability

The ProCap ProCare Plus Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable unless approved in writing by ProCap.

15. Changes to Terms

ProCap reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.

The applicable terms will be those in effect at the time of purchase.
